Lady and Guide Dog at Charity Event

A Message from Martine

I am proud to support the Saint Neots and Huntingdon District Fundraising Branch of Guide Dogs in organising this concert to raise money for the Guide Dogs charity. I myself am registered blind, having being born severely visually impaired, and completely losing my sight over 40 years ago.
I have benefitted from seven guide dogs over the years (one of them was even a collie), and could not function without any of them. My current guide dog, Willow, is a labrador / retriever cross, and is an amazing lady, who has been raised and trained by the exceptional Guide Dogs organisation.
You can find out more about my dogs by joining our facebook group: GBChallenge Events.
As a way of saying thank you to the charity, I am a speaker, who gives talks to clubs and groups; I support collection events and fetes; and I have also undertaken sponsored events, including parachuting, the 100 mile ride-london cycle event, and even driving a car.
As a musician, I am combining my love of music with my gratitude for the Guide Dogs charity, by organising this charity musical event through the Saint Neots and Huntingdon District Fundraising Team for Guide Dogs. I have approached both professional and amateur musicians, and have been amazed by their response and offers of support, so in the evening of 18th of October 2025 in Saint Neots Parish Church, we will be performing a varied range of music for your entertainment, all in aid of this very important and worthy cause.
Thank you so much for your support, and I look forward to seeing you on the 18th October
And also, make sure you keep your eyes peeled, as I am planning to do a 5K run this year too!

About Guide Dogs

Guide Dogs is a UK charity which provides many services, the most obvious of which is the breeding, raising, training and supporting assistance dogs for the blind and visually impaired.
Did you know that it costs approximately £38,000 to train a guide dog, but the association does not stop there as it also looks after the dog's welfare through its life, and pays for all of the dog's food and vet bills in addition to keeping the training topped up.
You can find much more about the good work that Guide Dogs do by visiting their website.
Why not Sponsor a Puppy - it's easy to do, and you will receive 'pupdates' throughout your puppy's training!
